Since November 1999 I've been travelling around Australia and New Zealand putting on travel shows for backpackers, and my FREE, pocket-sized guidebook is coming up to its tenth edition. Crammed with 320 pages of information about what to see and do in Australia and New Zealand, the guidebook also has a comprehensive accommodation listing.
My guidebooks are like bunny rabbits: small, cute and bloody everywhere. You can pick up your FREE copy by heading to hostels in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, Byron Bay, Brisbane and Cairns. In New Zealand they're available at hostels in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
However, a more enjoyable way to get a copy is by coming to one of my shows...

The Safari world emerged in 1999 when, after years as a tour guide in Europe, Safari Pete returned to Australia to discover not only his love of powder blue Safari suits, but also a passion for giving backpackers useful information about his beloved country.
The Backpacker Travel Shows kicked off soon after with an information evening and a travel auction at the Melbourne Metro YHA. The show's aim was to not only entertain backpackers, but to also provide useful information about travelling around Australia before they hit the road.
Since then the shows have become extremely popular and there are weekly information evenings at a number of YHAs in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Darwin. In the summer of 2002 Safari Pete expanded and produced the highly successful Safari Pete's Backpacking Oz and NZ Handbook. The love of wearing safari suits has also caught on with the Safari team, which now numbers six.
